GNATHOLOGY IS THAT BRANCH OF THE DENTISTRY THAT STUDIES AND TREATS ALL THE ASPECOLOGICAL-FUNCTIONAL ASPECTS OF THE DENTAL ARCHES.

There is a close relationship between the correct contact between the two dental arches, the mandibular muscles and the cranio-mandibular bones. Gnathology involves studying and restoring the correct balance between these areas in a way that resolves the resulting symptoms.

The common goal of gnathologists is to identify, maintain, and restore the correct cranio-mandibular relationship. Physiologically, the movement of the jaw occurs in a free, isotonic way, without causing fatigue to the structures attached to it. In the case of malocclusion and / or temporomandibular joint disorders, this movement is no longer isotonic, which results in frequent phonation, hearing and posture disorders.

A gnathologist visit can highlight the presence of malocclusions, disorders of the temporomandibular or cranio-cervico-mandibular joint. The tests that are available to GNATHOLOGISTS include 3D RX, mandibular kinesiography, and surface electromyography. After a careful medical history and diagnosis the therapy used in gnathology is BITE, a resin plate that improves the closure of the dental arches and restores their correct position.  Contact a specialist in clinical gnathology if you are experiencing frequent headaches, joint pains, and/or tinnitus.
