Hearing impairments such as deafness and hearing loss can affect patients of all ages and at any time in their lives. The most effective tool to define the severity of a hearing impairment is the audiometric test, performed by the audiometrist technician who can establish the auditory threshold of the patient. In a silent environment, the patient is subjected to auditory and vibratory stimulations of the cranial bones through which the auditory system is examined. From this first, necessary tests can then diagnose the need for any ear interventions, rehabilitative therapies or implant cochlea.
